About the Groomer
Brenda has always been an animal lover. There has never been a time in her life when she hasn’t had a dog and other pets. She and her husband currently have a large critter family: six dogs – two shelter dogs (beloved mutts), two Belgian Tervurens (brother and sister from the same litter), and two Rough Collies (brothers from the same litter). She also has three inside cats, two barn cats, two parrots, two miniature horses (half sisters), a Quarter Horse mare and her Paint gelding. She believes in animal rescue and currently all but one dog, the two full size horses and the two parrots are all rescues. She has had the parrots for 19 years now!
Brenda put in 20 years with the Federal Government before deciding to follow her dream of working with animals. She had also worked as a vet tech for 4 years. A job she enjoyed and loved. She started learning about grooming while working in a vet clinic, and decided to attend grooming school to become a groomer. While in school she learned about mobile grooming and became enthralled with the idea of bringing the spa to the client’s home.
Continuing education is very important to Brenda. One of the aspects she loves about being a groomer is that there is always something new to learn. She attends seminars, classes, workshops and reads grooming books, as well as purchases and watches educational grooming videos. She recently became Pet Tech Certified in pet first aid and cpr.
She believes in giving her best to both the human and pet client. She understands how important a beloved pet is and treats them with lots of patience and kindness. She will not push a bad situation with a stressed out pet. Grooming should be a relaxing and enjoyable experience for both the pet and the groomer. Brenda looks forward to serving you and your beloved pet, for there is nothing more wonderful than a clean and happy pet!
